    Liaison psychiatrists work at the interface between physical and psychological health, providing psychiatric care to medical patients, that is, with physically ill people, and the health professionals of different specialties who care for them.

    This involves a close collaborative relationship between the Liaison Psychiatry Specialist, with the patient, their family and with medical and paramedical staff to assess and treat people for a wide range of conditions, including alcohol and drug-related problems. drugs, acute psychosis and self-harm.
