    Acerca de la especialidad

    Acerca de la especialidad

Mental health is defined by the World Health Organization (@OMS) as a state of well-being in which each individual develops their potential, can cope with the stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully, and can contribute something to your community.

    ¿Cuándo consultar?

People seek mental health help for many reasons. The problems can be as varied as difficulties in personal, work, family or partner performance, anxiety, sadness, a panic attack, changes in behavior, hallucinations, suicidal ideas or substance use including alcohol or cigarettes.

During times of crisis and/or changes such as adolescence, entering or leaving the labor force, maternity/paternity, maturity and other stressful life stages or exposure to stress and/or trauma that affect the functioning of the individual and/or generate discomfort. In conclusion, in the event of any emotional discomfort, alteration in sleep or eating patterns and in personal, bonding or productive well-being, an evaluation and/or consultation with a mental health specialist will be pertinent.

    Why choose us?

    • We are the only hospital in Cartagena with a Liaison Psychiatry specialist who permanently assists the needs of our patients and their families, guaranteeing truly comprehensive care centered on the patient and their family in the different areas of care, including the units of Critical care for adults, neonatals and pediatrics, emergencies and the treatment of special populations such as vulnerable people, with some functional limitation and/or complex and/or catastrophic pathologies such as oncology, among others.
    • We have formed and made available to the community a Mental Health department, made up of highly trained, trained and certified mental health professionals, supported by professionals in other health areas seeking to provide comprehensive and interdisciplinary care for the correct and early individual evaluation of each case and thus achieve the proper identification of the need and/or clinical condition that affects the client's mental health.
    • We develop treatments with a humanistic and comprehensive approach to care, recognizing the close mind-body relationship.
