    It is the specialty of medicine that uses different imaging modes to see organs, tissues and internal structures of the body with the aim of helping health professionals in the diagnosis and treatment of different pathologies.

    Patients come to the diagnostic imaging department referred by physicians from other specialties to undergo some of the different imaging modalities currently available (such as ultrasound, tomography, or magnetic resonance imaging).

    Some of the most common reasons patients are referred:

    • Trauma
    • Detection of cancer or tumors
    • Pain
    • Study of vascular structures (artery and veins).

    In the Diagnostic Imaging department we have different modalities of Diagnostic Imaging, among which are conventional radiology, Doppler ultrasound, neuroradiology, imaging of the abdomen, imaging of the musculoskeletal system, imaging of the thorax and heart, imaging of the woman, interventional radiology procedures.

    Diagnostic Neuroradiology is the branch of radiology which focuses on the diagnosis of diseases of the central nervous system (brain, spinal cord, spine, intervertebral disc disease, skull base, ears, paranasal sinuses, arteries and veins that they are composed) face, orbit, head and neck through modalities such as Magnetic Resonance MR, Computed Tomography CT and advanced techniques such as angioresonance, cerebral perfusion, spectroscopy, three-dimensional reconstructions of vascular structures. With Diagnostic Neuroradiology through these modalities, specialists in the clinical management of the patient such as Neurologists, Neurosurgeons, Otologists, Otolaryngologists, Head and Neck Surgeons, Radiotherapists and Oncologists can take better behaviors with the proper interpretation of diagnostic imaging aids. that we interpret in our hospital.

    Interventional Radiology is the subspecialty that is responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of a wide spectrum of diseases through minimally invasive techniques. Treatments performed under the interventional technique generally involve lower risks, shorter stays, and reduced convalescence compared to the traditional open method.
