Urology is the medical-surgical specialty that is responsible for treating benign and malignant pathologies and disorders of the urinary system (kidneys, ureters, bladder and urethra) in both sexes such as stones, tumors, infections, malformations and traumas. In addition, it is in charge of the reproductive system of men (penis, testicles, prostate and seminal vesicles).

¿Cuándo consultar?

- For the diagnosis and treatment of different urological pathologies that can occur in both sexes with symptoms such as bleeding in the urine, renal colic due to stones, urinary tract infections, urinary incontinence and urination difficulties.

- Especially men over 40 years of age in a preventive way for early diagnosis of prostate cancer that does not produce any symptoms in the initial stages and is potentially curable.

- Children with malformations or congenital conditions found even antenatally (Hydronephrosis, absence of any organ, testicles that are not in the scrotum, among others.)

- Benign prostatic hyperplasia: Benign prostatic hyperplasia or benign growth of the prostate is a progressive disease that can affect up to 70% of men over 50 years of age.

It has some symptoms like:

Decreased caliber of urinary stream
Pushing or straining to urinate
Delay in starting to urinate
Jet intermittence
Sensation of not emptying the bladder
Increased number of times you have to urinate both during the day and at night
Bleeding in the urine
Complete inability to urinate
Urine infections
