“I had an accident at school, where I fell from a very high wall,” says Matías.

Karen Serna, Matías' mother, went to the school. After trying to talk to him and getting no response, she realized how serious his condition was.

“He was taken to a hospital, where they found a significant amount of blood in his little head. At that moment, they told us they didn’t have a neurosurgery service, and he needed to be transferred. The only hospital with that service was Serena del Mar Hospital.”
